Johnny SuttonFormer United States Attorney Johnny Sutton is a partner with the Ashcroft Law Firm. From November 2001 to April 2009, Mr. Sutton led one of the largest and busiest United States Attorney’s Offices in the nation. The Western Judicial District of Texas is composed of more than 93,000 square miles, approximately 660 miles of border with the Republic of Mexico, 68 Texas Counties, and three of Texas’ major metropolitan areas, San Antonio, El Paso and Austin.

As U.S. Attorney, Mr. Sutton directed 43,000 federal prosecutions and thousands of civil cases, including False Claims Act cases, health care fraud, military procurement fraud and other law enforcement actions to root out the misuse of public funds.
Under Mr. Sutton’s leadership, the government won more than 105 public corruption convictions and sent nearly 400 gang members, mostly Mexican Mafia and Texas Syndicate, to prison for drug, firearm and money laundering crimes.
