Luis A. Reyes is Partner with the Ashcroft Law Firm and has extensive experience rooting out fraud, waste and abuse of U.S. taxpayer dollars. From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Reyes served as General Counsel for the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction (SIGIR), the independent federal law enforcement agency charged with exposing waste, fraud, and abuse of over $70 billion in U.S. funds appropriated for reconstruction efforts in Iraq. As the principal on all legal aspects of investigations and prosecutions, Mr. Reyes played a pivotal role in rooting out those who had defrauded the United States during the Iraq reconstruction effort, and prosecuting other major fraud schemes. SIGIR’s oversight has returned over $1 billion to the U.S. Government.
